This workshop evolved from our summer camp participation and has become our most popular half-day presentation. It is designed for students who need activity-based, tactile experiences with artifacts instead of text driven, lecture based programming. We provide activities from almost all the early societies. Students spend the majority of this three-hour workshop on their feet experiencing history through movement, activities, sports, artifacts, reenactments and much more. This session ends with a historical martial arts demonstration including our instructors in full armour and includes an optional archery component at no extra cost. This workshop is designed for groups of up to 60 students.

Students will act as a team representing their entire school "competing" against the other schools we visit during the school year. This adds an interesting team-building element to our workshops and also allows us to cover all of the elements of the Character Matters curriculum. Teams are awarded points based on their answers, can gain bonus points for creative thinking and taking risks, but there are no penalties for an incorrect answer. However, should any bullying or non-chivalrous behaviour be encountered, points may be subtracted accordingly. This programme covers the curriculum fully, utilizing multimedia elements as well as hands-on components including an array of artifacts and optional archery demonstration. This session ends with a battle reenactment including our instructors in full armour utilizing actual historical martial arts.
This workshop is three-hours in length. It is designed for groups of up to 60 students. REQUEST A QUOTE |
This literacy based workshop allows teachers to explore the curriculum just as the Ministry of Education intended and select two early societies and explore them thoroughly through multimedia components as well as hands-on activities and artifact exploration. The workshop utilizes two of our talented instructors and each takes the side of one society and spends approximately an hour educating students about a particular group. Students are given the opportunity to draw their own conclusions based on the comparisons and contrasts of each early society. Then our talented instructors will don armour and conduct a historical martial arts demonstration for their enjoyment. This workshop is designed for groups of up to 60 students. This workshop includes two instructors and is three-hours in length.
