Virtual Programming

The Knights in the Classroom is offering virtual programming for all grade levels. They are also offering their virtual programming to community groups and seniors facilities. Each session is customized to the specific group to meet their individual needs. We are able to explore many areas of the curriculum including social studies, history, dance, STEM, physical education and much more!

Thanks to the generosity of the St. John's United Church Foundation Alliston, our virtual programming is 100% free right now! Please connect with us using the form below to start the booking process.

Our Compare & Contrast and Grade 4: Early Societies Game Show programmes have been augmented for a virtual platform experience. They are interactive, multimedia based and very memorable. Click on the name of the programme to visit the specific page detailing those workshop options.

In addition, we have created exciting and curriculum based content on our YouTube channel to bring history to life.
You can find our channel here: www.youtube.com/channel/UCe8lkTEBUzi6fGlzL-aoqog?

Teachers can select the video content they wish to focus on and have their students brainstorm questions they would like to ask after viewing the video. We then schedule a live teleconference with the group, answer their questions and extrapolate the curriculum connections further generating rich dialogue. We conduct the teleconferences from our "armoury" which helps guide even further discussion beyond the video content itself.

An example of how a teacher might approach this is as follows:
The teacher reviews our selection of content and chooses our three archery videos to explore.
They direct their students to view the three videos and generate questions with the following guidelines:
- Write one question about the equipment.
- Write one question about the activities demonstrated.
- Write one question focused on history/social studies.
- Write one question focused on science/mathematics.
- Write one question on any other topic that comes to mind.
Then, depending on the group size, the teacher can collect the questions before hand and select 10 to 15 questions they wish to have explored, or each student during the teleconference can read out their questions and we will answer them.
We can also provide a quiz/test based on the selected videos as well as a rubric for the teacher to download.

Each virtual programme is customized to the group and grade level.
