We received word today that the Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund has approved our second grant application allowing us to continue our amazing work in that area at no fee to the schools there.

Our team takes part in the Canada Day Festivities at the Town of Georgina. They roamed the ROC and Pioneer Village as pirates, conducted a fencing demonstration and a historical martial arts demo in full armour!

Our seniors programming tours the greater London, Ontario area visiting three facilities and racking up over 1000 km's in one fantastic day!

The Knights in the Classroom take part in a Summer Reading Launch partnered with the libraries in Bruce County. We visited Owen Sound, Sauble Beach, Durham, West Grey and Hanover offering interactive programming with fantastic results! We hope to make it an annual event.

Thanks to grant funding secured by the Town of Georgina from the Government of Canada, we were able to launch a "Girls in Sport" fencing programme at De La Salle Chapel. It will run for 8 weeks and be offered to girls ages 8 to 15.

Thanks to grant funding from the St. John's United Church Foundation the Knights in the Classroom was able to conduct more than 150 virtual workshops from January 1st until today!

In order to enhance the at home learning experience we are now making our services available at no charge for online or virtual learning sessions. We are able to utilize any video conferencing programmes used at schools and are happy to interact with teachers and students in this exciting new forum. Q&A sessions, games, quizes and much more! No two experiences are ever the same. We are also willing to record video responses to students inquires. Differentiated learning is one of our specialities and we will do all we can to support educators and students during this unprecedented time.

We are thrilled to announce we have received our second grant from Canadian Tire Jumpstart! We will be offering a winter community fencing programme partnered with the Town of Georgina. The sessions will start in January. Check with the Town of Georgina to register for this free experience!

Due to the interest in our upcoming summer camp, the Town of Georgina has decided to partner with us and make the camp a full-day experience thanks to the generous sponsorship of local realtor Lee Lander and Lander Realty Inc. Brokerage. Previously it was to be a half-day camp and it will now be expanded to span the full day, 9 AM to 4 PM all five days. The camp will run July 15 to 19th, 2019 at the Georgina Ice Palace Hall and will include other historical activities from our array of programmes during the afternoons.

Expanding the Curriculum
The Knights in the Classroom are proud to announce that they are now offering workshops for the entire Junior division! They have added programmes exploring the Grade 5 First Nations curriculum as well as the Grade 6 Communities in Canada curriculum. Now schools can explore a full division of curriculum with KitC. And for schools with lower numbers or socioeconomic constraints, a full day event can be created to explore all three areas of curriculum at a very reasonable rate!

Matthew has been nominated for this award as part of the East Gwillimbury Chamber of Commerce. They have an annual event to celebrate local business and this year's event is extra special as Matthew will be featured predominately as this year's theme is "A Medieval Knight." Matthew, and his fellow Knights in the Classroom, will be a big part of the evening offering authenticity, excitement and entertainment. That event takes place November 8th, 2013 at the Silver Lakes Golf Club in Holland Landing. Learn more by visiting the EGCOC website.

Matthew has been nominated for one of these prestigious awards under the category of Creative Arts & Design. Learn more by clicking here.
The award ceremony is Monday November 18th at the Royal York Hotel.
Update: Sadly, Matthew did not win the prestigious award. However, it went to a very deserving gentleman who just so happens to be the head of character animation at DreamWorks. You know, the studio responsible for Shrek. At least Matthew can say he lost to a worthy recipient.
